Our calling to Watsonville, located near
at heart of the Monterey Bay, started in
2003. Prior to this, we were serving
alongside a wonderful group of brothers
and sister in Calvary Chapel Living
Water in Corona, California. We were
blessed to serve in every area of
ministry, and as the Assistant Pastor
for over eight years.
After the Lord stirring our hearts in
the summer of 2003, through the
encouragement of our Pastor Tom, we
spent time praying where the Lord might
have us begin a new work. The Lord, in
several ways, open the door for us to
come to the Bay Area where we spent some
time praying and seeking His specific
area for us to minister. Our prayers
were answered in a wonderful way with
the Lord confirming His desire for us to
pioneer a new church in Watsonville. We
had only passed through the city many
years ago; that was the extent of our
knowledge of the area. We were able to
see the Lord provide miraculously for us
by supplying the ability and a place for
us to move into.
We moved here; lock, stalk and barrel,
in November 2003. Not knowing a soul in
the city, we began to pray that the Lord
would draw those He desired us to
minister with and to. We started out in
our home and the Lord has slowly but
wonderfully added to the work here.
We also rejoice in Lord adding to our
family Ethan and Anastasia since we
moved here.
We are currently blessed with a
wonderful place to worship and
fellowship provided by our special
brothers of Teen Challenge Monterey
Bay. They are and have been such a
marvelous blessing to the Body.
Primarily an agricultural community,
Watsonville has a large population of
first and second generation United State
citizens. We have seen the Lord bring
those who have been disenfranchised with
traditional religious workings,
searching for something more in life and
deeper with the Lord. It is exciting to
see them come into a relationship with
Jesus having their lives transformed
with personal intimate fellowship with
our Father and Savior Jesus rather that
going through the outward religious
rituals that many were raised in.
We are excited to see what the Lord will
do with and through Calvary Chapel
Watsonville and invite you to come and
hear, see and experience, all that our
Heavenly Father has for your life.
